Delicious home cooked food
We’re in a bit of a “dead area” as regards local restaurants - it’s the price of living in Paradise! - but never fear, we have a professional chef at all times at the Quinta and can provide all your food while you’re here - you have only to read some of our reviews on TripAdvisor to be reassured on that score, “wonderful home-cooked, wide variety”, “great food”, “delicious home-cooked food”, “gourmet-style home-cooking” etc etc.
The style is “International Home Cooking”, i.e. our meals are prepared on site with, as far as possible, local ingredients. Portuguese one night, Mexican the next, French, Korean, Italian, Spanish, British … but all with the flair that is only imparted by Daniela, a lady of genius with a genuine love of cooking.
There’s lashings of it - you won’t go hungry - and it’s not from packets. It’s deliciously no frills; no fancy plates, no fancy menus, no fancy designs that leave you hungrier than when you sat down … just good wholesome food with ingredients that you can actually taste.
We can cook for a wide variety of diets and restrictions including vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free; if you’re at all anxious just give us a ring and we’ll set your mind at rest - it’s the start of your holiday!
Just like the Quinta in its entirety, mealtimes are informal and Lunch is a buffet style eat-all-you-can selection of hot and cold dishes followed by pudding, with water and tea or coffee supplied but other drinks extra; Dinner is a slightly more formal 3 course set-menu meal, with bread, butter, water, tea and coffee included, but with soft drinks, beers, wines and spirits extra. Prices for meals can be found on our "Prices and Book" page.
Talking of wine, there’s an extensive wine list that compliments the lively conversation around the dinner table. It’s all Portuguese, every bottle has a cork, (rather than environment-destroying screw-tops or plastic), and every bottle has an ornithological theme!
