The countryside roundabouts has been, as always, stunning this Spring and the flowers unsurpassable. I certainly hope not of course, but I have noticed a sharp decline in the numbers of some bird species that used to be very common. Bee-eaters for instance seem to be becoming fewer and harder to find,<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_327\" style=\"width: 460px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.paradise-in-portugal.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Bee-eater-8647.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-327\" class=\"size-full wp-image-327\" src=\"http:\/\/www.paradise-in-portugal.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Bee-eater-8647.jpg\" alt=\"Bee-eater\" width=\"450\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/paradise-in-portugal.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Bee-eater-8647.jpg 450w, https:\/\/paradise-in-portugal.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Bee-eater-8647-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-327\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Bee-eater<\/p><\/div>\n<p>though other species seem to be on the increase. I have never seen so many as I have this year.
